Gledholt Appoints Susan Wilkinson as Musical Director

Gledholt Male Voice Choir, one of Huddersfield’s leading choirs has appointed Susan Wilkinson as their musical director.

Susan M. Wilkinson studied initially under Professor Shackleton Pollard in Halifax before graduating in Pianoforte and Voice at the Royal Manchester College of Music (now the Royal Northern). Susan has extensive knowledge about teaching music. A former Ofsted Inspector, Teacher Trainer, and Music Adviser for a local authority she has spent many years in education with pupils younger than age 5 to Post-16 and beyond. Susan is well known in Huddersfield where she conducts the award winning Huddersfield Choral Society Junior Choirs.

The Choir’s chairman, Raj Beadle says “ We are delighted that Susan has taken over as our Musical Director. The choir men are looking forward to working with Susan in preparing for their 60th anniversary Gala Concert in May at the town hall”

Gledholt celebrates 60 years of music making in the Huddersfield area.
