Gledholt Male Voice Choir hosts a brand new Music
Festival in the Huddersfield Town Centre, on the 10th of May 2008,
to coincide with their Annual Gala Concert.
The Chairman of the choir Raj Beadle says
“We are
planning to harness some of the local talent in
The Festival will take place throughout the day at five locations
in the Town Centre. The Gala Concert in the evening in the Town Hall is also
aimed at encouraging young musical talent. The Huddersfield Young Voices, a
group of 70 young people, under the leadership of Susan Wilkinson, a well known
music educationist in the country will perform with the Gledholt Male Voice
Choir. They will be joined by the
Kirklees Youth Symphony Orchestra, conducted by another well known and
respected musical director, Thom Meredith.
This year the music festival is supporting the
Classic FM Music Makers charity whose “aim is to fund music therapy
and education projects which help needy children and vulnerable adults across
